Ships are a core feature of the game Rebel Galaxy.
Rebel Galaxy[ | ]
There are numerous ships in Rebel Galaxy; the player begins the game with a Hammerhead-class ship named the Rasputin. The player can upgrade to any ship provided they have enough funds. When doing so, the current value of your ship is also deducted from the cost of the ship you wish to purchase. Turrets, secondaries and components are automatically transferred over to the new ship upon purchase, and if the player chooses to "downgrade" to a ship of a lower cost, the difference in cost will be credited to the player. If the new ship has fewer Component or Turret slots than the old one, extra equipment will be unequipped and put in your storage.
Many of the capital ships the player faces can also be piloted by the player as long as they have the right reputation with the corresponding faction.
There are also un-shown multipliers for the ships based on their weight class (Very Light, Light, Medium, Heavy, Very Heavy). They are admittedly difficult to determine, but the heavier the ship class the more the following are observed:
- Acceleration rate is reduced
- Shields are tougher
- Hull strength is tougher
- Broadside range is increased; Very Heavy ships have proven to roughly double the shown range of their equipped Broadside weapons

Rebel Galaxy Outlaw[ | ]
Ships are the core feature of Rebel Galaxy Outlaw. As of patch 1.18, the player can choose from a total of 12 unique ship models, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. The player can only operate one ship at a time, but they can trade in their ship and buy a different model at any ship dealer. Some ships are best suited for combat, while others excel at trading. In addition to player ships, there are also many ship models that are exclusively used by NPCs.
Player ships[ | ]
Juno Markev loses her ship at the beginning of the story. A friend helps her by giving her a dilapidated replacement, which she can later replace. All purchased ships can be upgraded with new weapons, defense systems, and utility components through the equipment bay service of some stations. Ships can also be renamed and have their appearance customized with paint jobs, options which are available at ship dealers.
Notes[ | ]
- The ship price is relative to the value of the ship you have. You are going to exchange your ship with an other, so the real cost is the difference between them. So if you have the Platypus and you want to get the Sonora, you'll pay 100k; after that for a Coyote you'll pay just 200k (because Sonora value is already 100k in the exchange). You can also have money back if the new ship is cheaper than the old one.
The ship hull represents your body points; once a shield is depleted (you have 4 shields) and the corresponding armor is gone, you get direct damage to your ship systems (impairing them till a critical threshold where your ship is in flames and is going to explode). The fastest and most maneuverable ships for fighting have a light hull that require substantial power to recharge the shields for surviving long battles; so carefully balance the power drained by your installed weapons while firing (and remember you can manage the real-time distribution of power in the command interface, bars on the left, to pump up the shields over the other functions in case of necessity).
Non-player ships[ | ]
See Category:Non-player ships for more.
There are also different series of ships which is non available for the player, piloted by civilians, police, or criminals.
Capital ships[ | ]
See Capital ship for more.
Large ships used for different roles are also present in the game, albeit it is not used by the player.
