Broadsides are your main using weapon, dishing the most damage, targeting with your mouse, and letting the turrets auto-fire all other targets around you. There are five types of broadside weapons each with upgrades from Mk1 to Mk6.

Pulse Cannon
Pulse Cannon are standard, mid-range broadside weapon. You start the game with the Mk1.
Tachyon Cannon
Tachyon Cannons have limited range but can be fired very swiftly. Excellent for close broadside combat.
Proton Cannon
Proton Cannon are designed for extreme range and feature enhanced shield damage. The range advantage is balanced by slower aiming.
Neutron Beams
Neutron Beams are a precision weapon when properly charged, delivering instantaneous damage. Weaker against shielding, they swiftly penetrate a ship's hull. Without proper guidance system charging, they can be erratic.
Murath Electro-Bolt Cannon
The Murath Electro-Bolt Cannon deals 50% additional damage to deflectors.
